Toate nivelurile fiecărei benzi trebuie să găzduiască același SKU, motiv pentru care este ideal pentru depozitarea multor paleți de produse omogene cu rotație redusă.

Rezistența mare a materialelor care alcătuiesc acest tip de rafturi permite depozitarea paleților foarte încărcați.

Există două sisteme de gestionare a încărcăturii: sistemul drive-in, cu un singur culoar de acces, și sistemul drive-through, cu două accese la încărcătură, câte unul pe fiecare parte a raftului.

Sistemul compact este utilizat pe scară largă în camerele frigorifice, atât pentru refrigerare, cât și pentru congelare, care au nevoie să profite la maximum de spațiul alocat depozitării produselor lor la o temperatură controlată.
